SPECIAL FEATURES

This classic version of knives is suitable for all cooking enthusiasts.

  • 【Vegetarian Favorite】 : The SHAN ZU 16.5 cm nakiri knife is ideal for quickly and efficiently chopping, slicing or slicing vegetables and fruits. Sleek blade with hollow indentations helps food come off the blade more easily.
  • 【Push Cut Master】: It features a flat profile and a square tip. This profile makes these knives ideal for power cutting and chopping, but impractical for rock cutting. And the blunt end makes the knife safer to use.
  • 【Super Sharpness】 : The edge is carefully sharpened at an angle of 15°±1° on each side, giving it a thinner profile than others. This produces precisely chopped vegetables, with each piece the same shape and size.
  • 【Protective Full Padding】 : The full bolster between the blade and handle functions as a finger guard while providing extra weight for perfect balance. It is safer to use, especially for beginners.
  • 【Ergonomic pakka wood handle】 : The pakka wood handle is ergonomically designed for comfortable use and beautiful appearance. It has a skeleton tang that is secured with three silver rivets for superb balance and quality. The toe cap adds weight and balance. A graceful top like a cutlery mark SHAN ZU.
  • 【Easy Maintenance】 : The blade is made of premium German 1.4116 stainless steel with a hardness of 55-57HRC for excellent rust and corrosion resistance. Less time required for knife maintenance.

Great knife, slow shipping.

Beautifully made knife with great balance, full tang construction and positive finger guard. I have fairly large hands (for a man) and the handle fits perfectly; if you have smaller hands you might prefer something a little smaller. Was charged €10 for '1-3 days expedited shipping' and it took 10 days to arrive. Either reduce shipping costs, or improve delivery time.

Hi, thank you very much for your feedback. SHAN ZU is committed to bringing the best kitchen knives experience to every customer. Our general arrival time is within 7 days. Free shipping worldwide. We are sorry for the inconvenience. And wish you a pleasant use of SHAN ZU kitchen knives. Always provide the best service for you. :)

Great knife at a low price!

An everyday kitchen knife with a professional chef in mind. Great price! A knife to show off when grilling. Very sharp, attractive, well balanced and versatile with a sheath to house this large knife. No sawing required with this. It seems like no one thinks about a large knife until they swear by theirs. My daughter-in-law is one of them.

Looks nice, good delivery, pretty box

But I have not tried in anger yet. All is pointing in the right direction, but for now it is making a good impression, but also why I can only give it a 4 star right now.

Sharp, stylish and fun to use

I bought two knives at the same time, this knife, and the slightly cheaper Paudin that is currently Amazon's Choice. Both are solid standard kitchen knives, but the SHAN ZU wins in every category for me. Basically, I am a simple home cook, I cook normal things in household quantities and I use this knife three times a day.

First, the Paudin is a bit thicker, and has a weird angle for a right-handed person when cutting. It's not very precise. I feel a bit unsafe when using it. The handle is made of thin but untreated wood.

I love the SHAN ZU because the thin blade cuts precisely and cleanly. There is no fighting with the blade. It is also sharper than the Paudin (and yes, I sharpened them both when they arrived.) The package also comes with a finger guard (maybe you need it if you are cutting vegetables all day, but for simple dinner prep not really necessary. but it works  !), a blade guard (never use this) and a sharpener with a coarse side and a fine side. THIS is what I love, and use every day!

The handle is made of smooth polished wood, it is cool to the touch and is an absolute pleasure to hold. It looks fantastic and offers excellent knife control.

If you are looking for a basic kitchen knife for regular everyday use, spend a few extra bucks and get the SHAN ZU. 10/10 would definitely buy again.

Super sharp, super beautiful!

Das Messer hat eine richtig schöne Optik! The packaging and delivery are classy and elegantly packaged. It's gut in the hand. Wollte kurz Wasser drüberlaufen lassen und fahre mit der Hand über das Messer, wie ich mein altes immer bei kleinen Verschmutzungen sauber gemacht hab, zack ... geschnitten. Ist also recht scharf. Ob das auf längere Sicht so bleibt muss ich noch herausfinden. Then you can see the Messer nur empfehlen... ich würde es wieder kaufen.

This is a good quality product;--ermöglicht so aber Schnitte in bester Qualität und Präzision.
Ich bin absolut begeistert von diesem Teil........
Würde es SOFORT wieder kaufen.

To clean and maintain your knife, it is best to follow these steps:First, clean the blade with warm water and dish soap. Be sure to rinse and dry the blade thoroughly to prevent rust.Next, use a sharpening steel to sharpen the blade.

Next, use a sharpening steel to sharpen the blade. This will help maintain the sharpness and ensure that the knife is in good working order.

If the blade is very dirty or has food stuck on it, you can use a soft-bristled brush to gently clean it. After cleaning and sharpening the blade, apply a thin layer of oil to the blade and handle. After cleaning and sharpening the blade, apply a thin layer of oil to the blade and handle, to prevent rust and keep the knife in good condition. Finally, store the knife in a safe, dry place away from heat and humidity. Finally, store the knife in a safe, dry place away from heat and humidity. A knife block or knife drawer organizer is a good option, as it will protect the blade and prevent accidents.

To sharpen a knife you will need a stone SHANZU sharpening tool or knife sharpener. To use a sharpening stone, first soak the stone in water for about 10 minutes. Then, lay the knife flat on the stone and tilt the blade so that it is at a 10 to 15 degree angle to the stone. Using long, steady strokes, move the blade back and forth across the stone, making sure to maintain the angle of the blade. After a few strokes, move the blade to the other side of the stone and repeat the process. You should sharpen the entire length of the blade, and you may need to repeat this process several times to achieve the desired level of sharpness.

What is Damascus Steel?

The origin of the name "Damascus steel" is controversial: two Islamic scholars, Al-Kindi and Al-Biruni (c. 800-873 CE), both wrote about swords and sword steels based on appearance, the geographical location of where they were produced or forged, or the name of the swordsmith. Both authors also mention the terms "damscene" or "damascus" when describing swords to some extent.

Based on these references, there are three possible sources where the term "Damascus" comes from in the context of steel:

Al-Kindi refers to swords forged in Damascus in Siberia as "Damascene," but it is important to note that these swords are not described as having a wavy appearance on the surface of the steel. Al-Biruni refers to a swordsmith named Damasqui who made swords from crucible steel. In Arabic, the word "damascus" means "watered," and Damascus blades are often described as having a water pattern on their surface.

The most common explanation is that the steel is named after the capital of Syria, Damascus, the largest city in the ancient Levant. The most common explanation is that the steel is named after the capital of Syria, Damascus, the largest city in the ancient Levant. This may be due to swords being made or sold directly in Damascus, or simply the appearance of the typical patterns, compared to damask fabrics, which are also named after Damascus.

What is German steel?

German knives are usually made of stainless steel, which has a Rockwell index of 56 to 58. Stainless steel contains chromium. This is what lowers the Rockwell index. The advantage is that the knife blade is resistant to corrosion and rust.

Chefs generally agree that German-style stainless steel knife blades are more durable than Japanese-style blades. Chefs generally agree that German-style stainless steel knife blades are more durable than Japanese-style blades. Its durability allows you to use it for more cutting and chopping tasks.

The softer characteristic of steel still allows for a sharp edge, but stainless steel will require you to hone and sharpen it more often. The softer steel also makes it easier to sharpen the blade, although a stainless steel blade means a German knife will lose its edge more quickly than its Japanese counterpart, which is made of high-carbon steel.
